Aside from generating one of the worst names in 2007, what else will Google Knols offer? Too many American brains are already branded with the “grassy knoll.”

 Is Google Knol an attack on Wikipedia or ezine/article directories? Will Google finally offer something that is not just an imitation of something already out there?

Microsoft to Take On Google

According to this post, Microsoft has been going head to head with Google for over four years.  Ballmer vowed to kill Google at least as early as 2005.  Now Microsoft is calling out Google on trademark issues.  Microsoft makes a very valid point, Google has leveraged other people’s trademarks to make a vast fortune in advertising fees.  They make a good case that Google was the original black hat on the internet.

Google Breaks Up With Squidoo

Google’s love affair with Squidoo seems to be over. Many SEOs are claiming that Google has dropped Squidoo pages in ranking or are being completely removed from the index for being too ’spammy.’ It reflects a lot on Google that it can take a website that is getting a ton of traffic, boosts its online exposure, then unceremoniously dumps the site.

Google is still having a fling hubpages.com, stay tuned.
